unloved: the story of Leah / day one

Writer's picture: taylor allentaylor allen

there is this feeling that i believe every woman feels at least once — unloved.

i have heard Jacob, Esau, + Rachel taught plenty of times. However, it wasn’t until a couple weeks ago that i dived deeper into Leah’s story. what God revealed to me through her position truly allowed me to see the warmth in His embrace + how He is interested in every one of His children

ᴅᴀʏ ᴏɴᴇ: your first position is loved 🤍

ɢᴇɴᴇsɪs ᴛᴡᴇɴᴛʏ-ɴɪɴᴇ “when the Lord saw that Leah was not loved, He enabled her to conceive, but Rachel remained childless”

Jacob may have seen Rachel first, but bc of tradition, the girl’s Father had to give away Leah first. Jacob worked for 7 years to marry Rachel, so he felt deceived when he had to marry Leah first.

Leah thought that since she could now bear children, Jacob would surely love her first now! 🤍

what did Drake say? “she don’t do it for the man, the man never notice…” ?? 😩

how many times have we looked for approval from another man or woman? the craziest thing was that Leah was blessed by God, yet her affections were towards Jacob. i have been Leah many of times in this particular situation. honestly, i was a certified people pleaser.

you aren’t loved bc you did something, or became something or grew in some area; you are loved bc He loved you first, already, + without condition or even a commitment back.

here is my love song playlist🤍 i listen whenever i want to thank God for His love for me + show Him love through praise + worship
